The WB never believed in Charmed
In the extra's of the dvd the crew speaks about how the WB didn't even want to air the pilot. Ofcourse they eventually did, and Charmed turned out to get a large amount of ratings for it.

It also explains how Shannen did ask her best friend "Holly" to read for the part. Shannen read for Spelling. And Holly for the WB. The network didn't want Holly! Spelling was quite peed about that because he thought Holly would be perfect! I was like..WTF. So thanx mr. Spelling!

Actually, I do think she did for the greatest part. I mean. She could do both sides. (Drama/Comedy)..

I was quite astonished too by the fact that the WB didn't want her.. I was like 'scuse me?!
